In Palos Verdes Estates, Salsa Verdes offers Mexican food made with love and recipes they have handcrafted and passed down over generations. Here, you can also eat inside or outside on their heated patio. The Original Red Onion, a classic Mexican Restaurant in Rolling Hills Estates, was established in 1963 and features an array of food in a picturesque setting.
 

Things to Do

Residents of the Palos Verdes Peninsula are never far from excellent golf courses. Golfers can play a round of 18-holes at the Los Verdes Golf Course, Palos Verdes Golf Course, or the Trump National Golf Los Angeles. For a quicker game of golf, the Links at Terranea in Rancho Palos Verdes features a par three course with nine holes. The Links at Terranea also offers golf lessons. The multi-award-winning course also includes a majestic view of the ocean.
 
Abalone Cove Shoreline Park in Rancho Palos Verdes is a nature preserve with beautiful places to explore and stunning views to discover. Once a landfill, the South Coast Botanical Gardens, offers a beautiful place to relax and explore. Work began in 1961 to turn it into the beauty it is today. Celebrate Wellness is an annual event held at the South Coast Botanical Gardens to raise money to help cancer patients. The event includes drinks and food tastings.
 
Fred Hesse, Jr Community Park offers places for picnics, a sand volleyball court, a soccer field, and more. Hikers can explore places like the Portuguese Bend Reserve, which features a network of hiking trails, some of which allow for horseback riding. The 191-acre Filiorum Reserve also offers hiking and equestrian trails.
 
The Peter Weber Equestrian Center is in Rolling Hills Estates and provides boarding for horses, rider training, and more. Art lovers can visit the Palos Verdes Art Center, founded in 1931. It features art exhibitions and even hosts art classes.
